Just the other day...

Hi everyone,

Just the other day I received an email from Michael Rodiles, asking me to give him a call about photographing the band Rodiles, lead by his father Guille Rodiles. How could I say no? Such a sweet face that Michael! So, Brooke and I met with the family this past Thursday and set up several dates to photograph the band both in action and in the studio (theirs and ours).

Rodiles has been performing in Coconut Grove for some time now, and as Guille said in the Rodiles Documentary Short, "They conquered that corner!" Not that difficult for the likes of these musicians of course. Guille has played with the best to include: John Lennon, Joe Walsh, Chicago, Bill Wayman Bass Player for the Rolling Stones, Capitan Beyound, and more. Most recently, he can be seen acting in Step Up Revolution. You can listen and watch the band on their youtube page listed below.

Brooke and I are so thrilled that Rodiles thought of B. Baum Photo to create the images that they will use as their visual connection with their audience. If I can find the link to the documentary short I will post that asap.

Model Shoot

Had the best time taking these portraits last Friday. Such a great and natural model, perfect for Wilhelmina teenage modeling. And of course we couldn't resist getting a shot in with her adorable bulldog. :)

Hello Again

We have been busy setting up all the business end of things for B.Baum Photo. So much paperwork. But have come to the end of the list and can get back to shooting.

So today I went to one of my favorite places. The Camera/Equipment Rental guy!!!!  It is the best place ever for those of us afflicted with the photography bug.  I picked up a Canon L EF 135mm 1.2. The immensely shallow depth of field is sooo gorgeous for portraits. Opened up all the way you get about 2 inches on either side of the mark.

We are shooting a session this weekend and I cannot wait to try it out. The model is already beautiful so the work will be easy, but still am excited to see what the lens does.

Will post pics early next week.
