This morning, very early, this morning, Brooke and I attended a meeting of BNI (www.bni.com):
With over 145,000 members worldwide, BNI is the largest business networking and referral marketing organization in the world. Last year alone, BNI generated 6.9 million referrals resulting in $3.1 billion dollars' worth of business for its members.
We were invited by a friend of mine, Summer Berman Diaz, a financial advisor at Ameriprise Financial (http://www.ameripriseadvisors.com/summer.b.diaz/). Summer is amazing, I sent my mother to her for advice and she really helped.
We were a bit leery as we had never been to anything like this. But I will admit, I think both Brooke and myself were impressed. We gave a 30 second "commercial" about B.Baum Photo, receiving an ovation (no other guest speakers did other than us!). We handed out some business cards and had a nice breakfast.
It was a great group of people that really seem to want to help one another. So we are thinking of joining...

ReDesign!
Redesign on the B.Baum Photography Ad Card is complete!
After a fast and furious photo session with the lovely Jennifer Rodriguez, assisted by her beautiful sister Jessica (who BTW completely rocks a Page Boy), we came up with the perfect image for the back of the card. Then Ms. Baum burned the midnight oil and voila B.Baum Photo has it's newly redesigned Ad Card!!!!

Thursday in the Grove
Yesterday we did an engagement photo session in Coconut Grove. The weather was wonderful, the company better. This lovely couple made it so easy to do our jobs. They were game for anything and just also happen to be gorgeous. I do not think that Brooke was able to take a bad shot.
The best part for me was the look on Brooke's face when I pulled out the new 70-200 lens! You would have thought it was her birthday.
Here are a few of the images Brooke captured. They are so beautiful. The bride's mother was also with us, and I am pretty sure I saw a tear or two after reviewing some of these!!!

NEW LENS!!!!
Hello, I have posted some quick pics of Finn using my new 70-200 lens! It is so fantastic!!! I cannot wait to use it tomorrow during the Engagement Photo Shoot. It weighs about a ton and is at least 8" long, but boy does it make a great shot. It does not hurt that Finn is one cute little man either.

Great Client Meeting
Today I met with clients to go over final details of this weeks engagement photo session. This couple is amazing! Brooke and I cannot wait to do this shoot.
Brooke and I had some out of the box ideas, and the clients were game for all of them. I think this shoot will be fantastic! We plan on using Coconut Grove as the backdrop, but with unexpected specific locations rather than the tired old spots so commonly used.
With their permission, I will post some of the shots later this weekend. So be sure to come back for a look!

Moon Over Miami
Tonight Finn and I went out to Matheson Hammock to see the Full Moon rise over beautiful downtown Miami and Key Biscayne. We met my mother and Steven, sadly Brooke was not with me. Although I did manage to get my friend Kim and her son Evan to come with us.
I mention this on this blog because my mother, an artist, brought her new baby, a Nikon D90! I will get some of the images and post them. She actually managed to get Finn and Evan to sit still long enough for the extra long shutter required for night photography and get some amazing shots. I have been considering the Nikon D7000, as it is the upper model of the D90, it will be tough to choose.
Many other photographers were out as well. Some had lenses as long as Finn's arm!
The Red Fish Grill, located at Matheson, was gorgeous. All lit up, reflecting in the water. A winter wedding there is just gorgeous at night.
All for now, will post images asap.
